There are a lot of apps out there in the world. Some of them are hugely popular and successful with some really cool and useful features while some just waste our time and attack us with ads.

While a lot of social media apps focus on targeting the users with ads based on the information they provide and their activity online, there are still some platforms where users can have a good time and find communities of people who share their interests.

It is hard to find such useful apps that are free from distractions and are genuinely useful but I managed to find such an app on the Google Play Store called MrOwl.  The best way to describe MrOwl is how their users describe it, which is that MrOwl is a bridge between Google, Wikipedia, and Pinterest.

It allows people to find, create, collaborate, and share the things that are the most interesting to them.  Think of it as having the ability to find or create a topic playlist with other real people in the MrOwl community who are passionate about the same interests that you are.

The best part is that you can find what someone else has created on any given topic or create your own.

For example, if you are a Harry Potter fan then you can create a “branch” in MrOwl where you can post images of Harry Potter characters, share tips about the books and your experiences with other fans.

Everything on MrOwl is organized all in-one-place with subtopics, links, photos, and documents.  And the whole thing is searchable – even the documents.  It’s never been easier to share your world and to share you.

Plus, you can personalize everything by adding, re-ordering, and emphasizing what’s important to you as you put together your collection of information.  Move, edit and delete links in a snap and easily share your “branch” via text, social media or email.

The best thing about MrOwl is that it’s not a timeline, so your information won’t get lost the way that it does on other platforms.  MrOwl is intuitive to use, which means you will instantly feel that you are familiar with the app and once you connect with other users it is a really awesome way to spend your free time.

MrOwl also allows you to directly interact with other people or groups from the Messages tab. One of the most useful and interesting features of the app is the grab feature, where  you can save interesting topic “branches” for later.  You can also interact in these “branches” by commenting or liking them.

The app is fairly easy to use and has a simple interface, and here is a simple step by step guide to help get you started.

How to Use Mr Owl:

Step 1:

Download and install the app from the Google Play Store. You can also use the web version of Mr Owl from here.

Step 2:

Open the app and now you can now either sign up by creating a new account or use your existing Google or Facebook account to sign in.

Step 3:

Your profile will now be created and you can use the Home tab to discover existing top “branches” that are related to your interests or just create a MrOwl “branch” of your own.

Step 4:

To create a “branch” just click on the create branch option.

From here you can give a name for your branch, add a “branch” image and an optional description.

MrOwl is a connected community curated by real people like you – not a computer.  See your interests come to life on MrOwl.
