Google Play Store was recently updated with an extremely useful feature known as the Google Play Protect. This is Google’s attempt at Protecting both the Google Play Store and the apps in it.
While it has been a few days since Google officially rolled out the Play Protect, most devices have not yet received it. This is because the update is rolling out in slow phases and since there are billions of android devices out there, it would naturally take a little more time to update all the devices across multiple regions.
So, if you have not yet received the latest Google Play Store update with the version number, 8.2.55 on your Android device, then you can install it by downloading the APK file from the below link.
However, if this is the first time you are installing an APK file on your device, then you have to first enable the permission to install files from unknown sources on your phone. To do that, go to Settings->Security->Unknown sources and then enable it.
Now, open the downloaded APK file of the Google Play Store latest version and then click on install to update your Play Store version.
While there are not much visual changes in this version, you can definitely feel the overall improvement in the fluidity of the user interface. The app has also been given a polished look which you can recognize from the rounded corners and the vivid colours of the icons.
If you recognize any new changes or features in this version of the Google Play Store, feel free to let us know in the comments below so that we could update this post.
