People have not stopped praising about the OnePlus 5 yet and we have already started to get rumors, leaks and specification details about the OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 5 has clearly won a spot on the list of one of the best smartphone of the year 2017 and OnePlus has proved itself again that it can produce a flagship killer.

OnePlus 6

Back in 2016 OnePlus did an unlikely act of launching OnePlus 3 and 3T in the same year and because of that, many of us were expecting a similar thing from OnePlus again this year and we expected a OnePlus 5T or something like that.

But OnePlus clearly thought the other way around and decided to invest its R&D on the next iteration on its flagship that is scheduled to launch on 2018.

OnePlus 6 Design And Specifications

So far all the flagship phones from the OnePlus starting from the very first OnePlus One have featured a 5.5-inch displays. However, OnePlus 6 is expected to pack a 6 inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, 94% screen to body ratio with a 2K AMOLED panel ( 2880 X 1440 resolution ).

OnePlus 6 will also come with a bezel less display which is now a trend in the smartphone industry. It is also expected to come with Android 8.0 Oreo based Oxygen OS by default which is pretty obvious.

But there is a downside to this design. Since it is going to go for a 6 inch 18:9 aspect ratio front panel, it is expected that the most praised front facing finger print scanner of the OnePlus design will be moved to the rear side.

Well, I am personally a big fan of front facing fingerprint scanner, but as long as they don’t remove the finger print scanner completely and opt for a something like a FaceID in the iPhone X, I am down with it.

OnePlus 6 is also expected to have a dual cam setup just like its predecessor but it is expected to come with OIS instead of EIS in the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 6 is most likely to come with the Snapdragon 845 Soc under the hood as OnePlus phones have always come with the best processor that Qualcomm can provide in that particular year and it is also expected to house the same 6GB and 8GB variants with 64GB and 128GB internals.

Just like its predecessors, OnePlus 6 will not have a SD card support. It will be better if they completely ditch the 64GB variant and bring a 256GB variant as the phone will not be having an external storage support.

OnePlus 6 Price

Well this is where the OnePlus phones have always made a difference. It would be much better if the OnePlus decides to stick with the current price ranges and not increase the price point again by following the trend.

Currently the OnePlus 5 variants are in the mid-range in terms of price and top notch in terms of specs. Only if the company follows the same formula, the possibility of OnePlus 6 becoming a success in high.

If they again Opt for increasing the price, then it is inevitable that OnePlus phones will no longer be considered as the “Flagship Killers” as they themselves are selling for a “Flagship Price”.
